Robin Larkworthy

Robin is a graduate of the Victoria University of Wellington School of Architecture, graduating with B.Bsc, B.Arch.Hons. Robin has had over 40 years of experience as an Architect in the UK and New Zealand across the range of practice formats from sole charge to large scale. UK experience was in London in the 1980’s and works experience was with design leaders in British Architecture. Back home in New Zealand Robin spent 14 years in Auckland, before returning to Hawkes Bay in 2003 working in a small practice before joining Team Architects in 2015. Robin is part of Team Architects Napier practice in the role of Senior Architect.

Robin’s work experience is across large housing projects, individual homes, large format retail, commercial office, education, local authority and national institutional projects. Robin’s most successful projects are built around a collaborative approach to project delivery and the development of personal enduring relationships. Robin’s strong focus for projects and professional development looking forward is in Environmentally Sustainable Design principles and effecting built mitigation of climate change.

Outside work Robin enjoyed the UK years traveling and playing cricket and on his return to New Zealand he has focussed on wellbeing and fitness. He competes in distance running events and has completed the Rotorua Marathon 35 times. Since moving back to Hawkes Bay life in Hawkes Bay has been family centred around raising twin daughters and providing support to elderly parents in their retirement years.
