BOON has opened a permanent studio in Taupō-Nui-a-Tia – a place the practice have been quietly working in for years.
The practice’s long standing connection with the Taupō township and lake district has been built from the completed projects over the past 15 years. From the major repair and redevelopment of the iconic AC Baths aquatic centre and Taupō Events Centre, through to commercial retail projects, to muiltiple houses – including the NZIA award-winning Kinloch House, delivered alongside the Beck Building.

That momentum isn’t slowing down either. BOON is currently involved with local investors on an exciting town centre development – watch this space.
The new studio is located at 108 Tūwharetoa Street, where BOON shares workspace and ideas, with civil engineering consultancy Matanga Projects. “We thrive in collaborative workspaces” says BOON Managing Director Glenn Brebner. “Our strength has always been in connecting the dots between like-minded professionals and inspired clients. BOON’s combination of architecture, urban, landcape, and project management thinking means we are development problem solvers – and having Matanga alongside us only sharpens that”.
With a studio now open and a town centre project on the horizon, BOON’s Taupō chapter is just getting started. We can’t wait to share more of what we’re working on with you soon.
